Job description

• Advanced System Support (L3)
• Handle complex incidents, root cause analysis, and critical production issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
• System Performance & Tuning
• Monitor CPU, memory, disk usage; optimize system performance (WRKSYSSTS, WRKACTJOB, etc.).
• Backup & Recovery Management
• Design, maintain, and test backup strategies (full/incremental) using BRMS or native tools; lead disaster recovery activities.
• Security Administration
• Manage user profiles, authorities, auditing (QAUDJRN), compliance policies, and system security settings.
• System Upgrades & PTF Management
• Plan and apply OS upgrades (IBM i versions), cumulative PTFs, group PTFs, and firmware updates.
• High Availability (HA) / DR Solutions
• Manage replication tools (MIMIX, PowerHA, iCluster), ensure data consistency and failover readiness.
• Job & Workload Management
• Troubleshoot job failures, manage job queues, subsystems, and batch processing.
• Storage & IFS Management
• Monitor and manage ASPs, disk utilization, and Integrated File System (IFS) objects.
• Change & Release Management
• Support application deployments, transport changes between environments, and maintain rollback plans.
• Automation & Scripting
• Develop CL programs, automate routine admin tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
